The Use Of Cut Away Shots

 Using cut away shots allows us to take a break away from the narrative but to also be relevant to the storyline. For example this shot of an empty train and the dull weather symbolises the loneliness that my character feels. However in comparison to Sam and Lucy's relationship we use bright colours this symbolises the 'hope' in the relationship.

Including Cut away shots really help the narrative. We decided to include these cut away shots in between the shots of the single person and the couple this gave an idea of a 'journey' we also found that many of our cut away shots evoked quite a sad atmosphere which definitely fits in with our narrative.
